Yep, The Polo Lounge Bar Glasgow is a gay bar and proud of it – to the point that it was even voted Best Gay Bar 1999 by fans in a BBC gay time poll. But if The Polo Lounge doesn't watch it, its fans may start singing a sour note when it comes to praising this bar nowadays.
The Polo Lounge Bar starts charging admission from 11 pm onwards, but that isn't what has driven regulars to complain. Rather, the fact that the owners want to make The Polo Lounge a strictly males only club, leaving gay men and their female companions out in the cold. It also has a regulars only policy.
